Newgate was founded by myself, Jim Read. I dropped out of art school many years ago and pretty much immediately set about making and designing my own products. Newgate is now a brand renowned across the world for its iconic, design-led clocks and homewares.

Newgate Watches was launched in 2015. I wanted to draw from our extensive library of timepieces to form a collection of unisex watches, incorporating the same design DNA that Newgate homeware has become known for. Informed by the design principals behind our most iconic clocks, each watch is carefully crafted to make a statement on the wrist, just as one of our oversized clocks does on a wall.
